Starting Strong!

As our first full week of school comes to an end, we are going strong! In math today the class discussed how to find a missing value for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The 7th graders also discussed arithmetic sequences and geometric sequences. Homework due Tuesday is to complete lessons 3 & 4, 2-30 evens only.

In science we continued our discussion of the periodic table of elements, including alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, transition metals, metalloids, and nonmetals. We discussed the increasing reactivity of the elements from the right to the left of the table. The structure of an atom includes protons, electrons, and neutrons. We viewed slides of the atomic structure and discussed atomic weight and numbers. Next week we will finish up our first chemistry chapter by discussion section 4, reviewing the chapter, and conducting an experiment over the conductivity of metals. There is no science homework this week.

Have a wonderful weekend!
